The Franciscan Community Center

Our Mission:

The Franciscan Community Center exists to serve the people of Manhattan's Upper West Side as an instrument of God's peace. In the spirit of St. Francis, we reach out to all, in particular the poor, the alienated and immigrant populations. We develop, manage and support educational, recreational and outreach programs that create positive change in the lives of those we serve.

Our History:

In 1991 the Franciscan Friars of Holy Name Province saw an opportunity to engage in urban outreach. They established the Franciscan Community in Manhattan's Upper West Side where all would be welcome to benefit the Center's programs and services.
