Adult Faith Formation

The Adult Faith Formation Committee was formed in 2003 to provide available, attractive and effective programs and experiences to renew and deepen our adult community’s love of the spirituality of our Catholic faith and its sacramental beliefs.

Through prayerful exploration we offer specific topical study, parish lectures and opportunities for prayer and reflection for liturgical seasons and feasts.

Relying on the grace of the Holy Spirit we work within our Franciscan-based tradition as we reach out to serve, support and encourage all on their spiritual journey with Jesus Christ.

How does an adult become a Roman Catholic - become baptized, confirmed, and receive First Eucharist/Holy Communion?

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (the RCIA) is the Roman Catholic Church’s process by which adults are brought into the worshiping community, the Church, and mature in their love for Jesus Christ.  The RCIA process unfolds over several months and includes study of the Bible, the Mass, the Sacraments, the seasons and feasts of the Church year, prayer, the teachings of the Church, reflection and discussion.

• The RCIA process is also the way in which those already baptized into another Christian tradition are brought into full communion with the Roman Catholic Church.
• In addition, the RCIA is the way in which adult baptized Catholics are prepared for the reception of the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Eucharist/Holy Communion, deepening their relationship with Jesus and with their parish community.
